Dubai Customs Processes Record 7 Million Transactions in Q1–23, Honors Innovative Employees, and Strengthens Community Outreach
Dubai Customs has been making significant strides in various areas, including increasing the number of customs transactions, promoting innovation in customs work, and strengthening its community outreach efforts. During the first quarter of 2023, Dubai Customs announced that it had processed a record-breaking 7 million transactions, indicating the efficiency of its smart services and projects.
In addition to its impressive customs transaction numbers, Dubai Customs has also been actively promoting innovation in the customs sector. The department recently honored 25 creative employees with disabilities for their innovative ideas and solutions presented during the Innovation Month. Moreover, more than 10 initiatives were organized and managed at department and customs centers levels, strengthening Dubai Customs’ leadership in driving innovation in the customs sector both locally and globally. Dubai Customs has become the world’s first customs reference in innovation, with three customs organizations, including New Zealand Customs, South Korea Customs, and Abu Dhabi Customs, benchmarking with Dubai Customs to benefit from its innovative experience, skills, and expertise in translating its innovative ideas into tangible reality.
Dubai Customs is not only focused on innovation and increasing customs transactions, but also on supporting the launch of sustainable development initiatives. During the first quarter of 2023, the department successfully targeted approximately 17,500 beneficiaries through 67 community and volunteering initiatives. These efforts demonstrate Dubai Customs’ commitment to protecting the community and the economy, promoting security and stability as the first line of defense for society, and enhancing the country’s position as a leading global business and trade hub.
To further enhance its capabilities, Dubai Customs has also been actively investing in its employees’ professional development.
