Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan Joins Leadership Council of Women’s Research Organization
The International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW) has announced the appointment of Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan to its leadership council. Sheikha Shamma is a well-known environmental activist and philanthropist from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). She will be offering her insight and advice to the ICRW while also serving as an ambassador for the organization and its mission.
The ICRW is a global research institute focused on advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls. It is dedicated to conducting research that informs policies and programs to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide. The organization has worked in more than 100 countries and is recognized for its cutting-edge research on a range of issues affecting women.
Sheikha Shamma brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the ICRW. She is the founder and CEO of the Circle of Hope, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of people in the UAE and beyond through sustainable development initiatives. She is also the founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, a cultural organization that promotes the arts and music in the UAE.
Sheikha Shamma is known for her work in environmental sustainability, having founded the UAE’s first sustainability-focused private equity fund. She also serves on the board of the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF, a non-profit organization that works to protect the UAE’s natural heritage.
