UAE Launches Innovative Program to Monitor Marine Plastic Waste
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has announced the launch of a new marine plastic waste monitoring program. This innovative initiative aims to contribute to the UAE’s efforts to achieve the 14th Sustainable Development Goal set by the United Nations — conserving the oceans, seas, and marine resources, and using them sustainably.
The new program will monitor marine plastic waste and the impact it has on the environment, as well as on marine life in the UAE’s coastal waters. It will also provide valuable data that can help the government identify and address key challenges related to plastic waste and pollution.
The UAE has been taking significant steps to tackle plastic waste and promote sustainability. In January next year, plastic bags will be banned nationwide, demonstrating the country’s commitment to reducing plastic waste. The marine plastic waste monitoring program is yet another example of the UAE’s strong efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.Ministry of Climate Change and Environment launches marine plastic waste monitoring programme#UAE #ClimateChange #MOCCAE #UAEforClimate #PlasticPollution #PlasticWaste @MoCCaEUAE pic.twitter.com/5ukM8elW2n
